"Am I Suffocating Right?"
Who:
Music has always been, in some form, one of my life's pursuits. I'm a total freak for it. As though my body needs it to live or something. Beats seem to settle out my crazy head, like a drug. Almost all my free time is spent looking for new artists, remixing tracks I already have and listening listening listening! I'm very particular about what has "the sound" for the floor. I couldn't describe it to you but I know for damn sure when I hear it.
The first album I ever bought was "Catching up with Depeche Mode" back in 84 or 85. That album woke me up. I lived for Depeche. Back then if it wasn't Depeche then it was crap! No internet then. We had to take a city bus halfway across town just share a new track with a friend. DM led to The Cure, New Order, Camouflage, etc. That was until '89 when I was handed Nitzer Ebb's "Belief". That album shoved me off in a new direction. That sound rounded out my musical foundation and opened the doors for industrial music. This music is not new to me, in fact it's all I've ever known. What I really get off on, is where the scene is going musically, the right now. I love bringing the sounds pushing edge of this scene to the floor.
Other:
My mind very much feeds on visual creativity. You can see some of my work on my personal myspace profile. I'm also a big fan of photoshop. Every week I use PS and html skills to create and maintain the media on Dementia's Myspace Profile, blog, dj profiles, etc. I also produce the Dementia flyers we see each week on the web.
The
name Missionary was pulled from the DM song Sacred and seemed a fitting name
for the promotion project run by my wife and I. "Spreading the news"
It seemed fitting to take the name with me behind the DJ booth. Keep an
ear out, we've got some shows coming up you're sure to want to be at!
Missionary's business phone, fax, email and mailing address available via
email contact.
Why:
I felt as though it's a natural progression of my love for this music, this scene. I live for those moments of perfection up there. The beats are blending, the tracks are perfect, the floor is full. I really appreciate all the support from our guests and may I continue to engage you.
